Matthias Lehrer is used to death. He’s spent most of his life surrounded by it, in fact. Growing up, he sought the company of graveyard ghosts and the lingering spirits of battlefields rather than the friendship of kids his age (not that there were many of those around his hometown in the first place). He has always been naturally drawn to the dead, in part thanks to his exceptional spiritual sensitivity, and in part because he was often a lonely child.

He spent his teens and his twenties heavily immersed in Necromancy, seeking to use the spirits around him instead of understand them. It was a turbulent few years that nearly saw him exiled from wizarding circles altogether.

But those days are long behind him. Matthias is now what is known as a Spiritualist: a wizard whose skills focus on communing with the spirits of the dead, putting them to rest, or doing what needs to be done to ease their passage. He also works as a coroner, just as fascinated with the science behind death as he is the spiritual aspect. He’s not about to waste his life and his abilities just lurking around some old graveyard, after all. [ x ]
